China witnessed the unveiling of the largest 3D street painting in the world in the capital of the Jiangsu Province, Nanjing. The painting is a 365m long street painting which is titled the Pulse of Youth. The painting was presented on a lane in the campus of the Communication University. The painting wasn’t unveiled more than 2 days ago and it has already secured a safe place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
3D Painting Called the Pulse of Youth
The painting, called the Pulse of Youth, has a total width of 7.5m, occupies 2600sq.m and is 365m long. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the current record for the world’s longest 3D painting is held by a painting which is just 200m long and the record for the largest by area is held by one which is about 2293m wide in area. Pulse of Youth will blow off both these records once the painting is accredited and acknowledged by the Book of World Records. The creators of this 3D masterpiece are Yang Yongchun, a 3D stenographic artist, and his brilliant, artistic student. According to a Chinese daily newspaper, the completion of the painting took Yang and his student about 2 full weeks.
The painting is a collection of mish-mashed images which include the rape flowers, the Nanjing Youth Olympic mascot known as Lele, snow, a bird’s eye view of Nanjing’s main building, the Yangtze River, and other amazing views and aspects of the urban landscape in Nanjing.
Yang is one of the world’s first professional 3D artists and his brilliant student, Xu Yanting, who is only 17, is thus counted amongst the youngest. According to Yang, “the Pulse of Youth” happens to be a gift to the Youth Olympic Games.
The creators of this 3D masterpiece were awarded a certificate by the Guinness Book of World Records last week at a ceremony held specially at the university grounds.
The 3D painting is displayed at the Communication University of China in Nanjing. The painting is open for visitors for more than 20 days and that too without any charges at all. The painting, a masterpiece, stretches all the way down to the lane connecting the major road and the university. The artists have tried to the best of their efforts and have successfully managed to connect students and professors walking to the university to this amazing street art. The pedestrians were also incorporated in the painting in a way that reality was combined along with the busy road into the creation.
This record breaking 3D painting unveiled in China has certainly opened a new tourist attraction for all those who happen to visit Nanjing. The painting will be on display for the next two months, although charges might be put up to see the painting after the first 20 days are over. Nothing has been decided about the charges by the creators and the Communications University of China.
All in all, the Pulse of Youth has set a record, which is unlikely to be broken for some good time.
