In his fanciful photographic series Filling Spaces, graphic designer and practiced pianist Federico Picci imagines music materialized as delicate, blush-colored pastel pink bubbles. Much like a melodic tune, the dreamy orbs whimsically waft through the air. It has been ccupying any empty space with their ethereal presence.
PASTEL PINK BUBBLES
The photographs that comprise the splendid series are set in a sunlit space. Furnished only with an ebony piano, a gramophone, a table and chair set, and a neoclassical bust. The large parlor features ample empty space, which Picci fills with the pale pink globes. As whimsical, visual manifestations of sound, the bubbles emerge from the body of the piano, spill from the horn of the gramophone, and delicately drift through the luminous room. They eventually settle in swarms on the floor, the furniture, and the statue.
